Debt and equity markets achieve July highs
Asia-Pacific and Chinese corporates both reported record highs for bond issuance during July, with financials accounting for 70% of activity. Globally, ECM deal value was up 22% year-on-year and IPO volume achieved a 14-month high. But for the first time in nearly six years, not one worldwide M&A transaction over US$5 billion was announced during the month, data shows.
