The Don Restaurant

Lunch started with a mass outbreak of forgetfulness. Neither Robert (Bob) Parker nor I could recall when we had last seen each other. I also struggled with when I had last eaten at The Don. "A while ago," said Bob when I asked him the question. It seemed reasonable on both counts; a happy compromise between, "an age" and, "4pm last Thursday". But the when and the whys did not really matter. Bob and The Don are City of London stalwarts. Forget the last time, it is the next occasion you should enjoy. So it proved.
