Cheung Kong Holdings became the first company to sell a Hong Kong dollar-denominated corporate hybrid at the end of last week, issuing a HK$1bn ($129m) deal. But the issue struggled to get big demand from investors, leading some bankers to question the depth of local demand for subordinated debt.
