Spreads shrug off scandal to grind tighter
Standard Chartered’s senior and subordinated debt has widened by up to 50bp this week following allegations of illicit trades with Iranian banks. The rest of the market was resilient, however, with spreads squeezing tighter as paper-hungry investors scrambled to put excess cash to work.
