Foreign private equity funds aim to act local in China
For years international private equity funds used international US dollar funds to invest into local Chinese companies, which restricted them from many sectors and put off some potential targets. But some have recently gained permission to set up locally incorporated funds, which are hoped to be more harmonious for local corporates. The opportunities are big, despite local competition and potential conflicts of interest. Chris Wright reports.
