Opinion: RBS’s bond bonuses fool nobody
Certain staff at RBS will receive a chunk of their bonus in the form of bonds that mature in four months’ time. It may technically adhere to the government call not to offer cash bonuses over £2,000, but it’s not fooling anyone.
