Asian markets reflect eurozone worries, but bankers stay sanguine

There could have been plenty of worse times for the news of the Italian election result to hit Asia, said bankers in the region on Tuesday morning. The inconclusive result undoubtedly damaged sentiment — and helped push stock markets across the region lower. Japan's Nikkei closed Tuesday down 2.3%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was off 1.3%.
