Hainan uses BoC letter to cheapen funding
Hainan Airlines launched a debut dollar bond at the end of last week, using a letter of credit from the Bank of China to stretch its curve out to seven years. A rush of competing supply meant a modestly oversubscribed orderbook but the deal held up well in the secondary market, due partly to the hefty premium investors demanded for the guarantee structure.
