RBS markets profits rise as costs slashed
After a year of seismic change in RBS’s investment bank, its year-old restructured markets division posted a profit increase of nearly 70% as staff costs were slashed by 30% and revenues in credit and rates rose. Profits were £1.5bn, up from an equivalent of £900m in 2011.
