HSBC names banks for first covered bond

HSBC Bank is expected to announce plans for its first covered bond next week, mandating ABN Amro, HSBC, Ixis CIB and Landesbank Baden-Württemberg to lead a Eu1.5bn-Eu2bn deal that could be launched in November.

The UK bank is understood to be well advanced in its plans, and has already pencilled in a roadshow for the end of this month.
