Uncertain future for UBS niche FX bond trading
Klaus Hansen, a bond trader based at UBS in Zürich who specialises in alternative currencies, left last week and has retired, leaving the bank’s future in the niche bond trading business in doubt.
UBS said it was not clear yet whether the position would be filled.
While the niche currency bond market has seen little activity this year, UBS has been involved in several trades, for instance acting as sole-lead on a Rabobank Nkr500m deal in April.
