Citi trims local CEMEA coverage in efficiency bid
Citi has tweaked its coverage strategy for Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa by pulling investment bankers back to its London hub. The move is intended to increase revenues and increase the firm’s efficiency in the region.
Under the new structure, Citi will serve investment banking clients in certain emerging European countries with a team from London. It will, however, maintain a local presence in corporate banking, where the revenue opportunities are bigger.
