Citi the champ as US banks soldier into wind
Equity investors greeted Citigroup’s results with a faint smattering of applause this week — while blowing raspberries at the performance of JP Morgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
Citis shares were the only ones to rise on the day it revealed its first quarter figures Monday, when the market fell 2.2% and the only ones to stay above where they were trading before the figures.
