Lords question German stance on banking union
A House of Lords committee will travel to Germany this week to quiz the country’s politicians and central bankers on its reluctance to accept certain elements of genuine economic and monetary union (GEMU).
The House of Lords EU Sub-Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs, chaired by Lord Harrison, is investigating the European Union’s plans for GEMU, asking how effective the plans will be and how much the UK should be involved.
