Some Euromarket houses performed quite brilliantly in 2003. Deutsche Bank showed us why its securities business platform in Europe has become the envy of almost every competitor. Citigroup proved that they don’t win business by simply sitting on the opposition, but that they also possess some exceptional individual talent. The formerly bloated Merrill Lynch, which used to throw its weight around and threaten to squash its competitors, is now dancing around the ring like an early Cassius Clay.
