  • EuroCP volumes held up well this week. More than $37bn was issued over the week, down from around $50bn in mid-March, with the euro proving most popular with investors. The currency took a 55% share of the market, with the dollar at 27% and sterling taking around 14%. The market also saw around 11 Canadian dollar deals go through, though the volumes were low, with $65m equivalent issued.

The £40m shortfall was not due to the deal being unpopular in the market but because the borrower has launched a £50m share issue, meaning it no longer needed the full amount of the loan. Barclays Capital, BayernLB, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, HBOS, HSBC, Rabobank, Royal Bank of Scotland and WestLB are mandated lead arrangers on the deal.
