  • Over the course of the last few months EuroWeek polled EuroMTN & EuroCP bankers and borrowers on who they regard as the best practitioners in the respective markets. The nominations from the peers? and borrowers? poll were collated and the teams you see over the next pages are the result of the polling process. The peers? poll was sent to bankers involved in origination, trading and sales. The borrowers? poll was sent to the treasury departments of the issuers.
  • In April and May EuroWeek polled bankers and investors in the syndicated loan market on the individuals they regarded as the best in their field or region. Voters were asked to nominate two people from their own house and three from outside the firm. In certain categories they were asked to nominate the best head of department, not including themselves. The international economy was unable to tolerate the substantial rise in real policy rates that was implemented to prevent economic overheating at the height of the expansion. Global equity markets fell sharply influenced by lower expected returns on capital and a positive correction to the equity risk premium.
