Alrosa prints largest Russian ECP issue ever

Diamond mining firm Alrosa broke records this week, printing the largest ever euro commercial paper (ECP) issue from a Russian borrower. The move has buoyed hopes that more Russian issuers will come to the fore.

The firm sold a dual tranche trade on Wednesday, split into a $725m nine month piece and a $315m 12 month piece. It then followed up with a $260m seven year deal, bringing the total amount of debt printed by the issuer this week to $1.3bn.
