EU May vote could bring bail-in law by 2016

The European parliament’s economic and monetary affairs committee is set to vote on draft bail-in rules on May 20, which will clear the way for negotiations on the text with individual member states.

Gunnar Hoekmark, the Swedish MEP tasked with getting the draft bank resolution regime through parliament, said the largest political groups in the parliament now favour a July 2016 implementation.
