UK to be first to introduce legislation for ‘living wills’
UK chancellor Alistair Darling announced this week that the government would legislate to introduce “living wills” for banks. This would allow banks to be wound up more easily in the event of another financial crisis and avoid a repeat of the chaos that followed Lehman Brothers’ insolvency filing.
