The Bank of England’s Andrew Haldane railed against Basel III in a parliamentary hearing on Wednesday, saying the rules do not work for investors, banks or regulators. In a wide ranging discussion that also touched on the concept of regulatory Swat teams, Haldane also highlighted imbalances in UK real estate lending.
