For many people, "Scottish cuisine" ranks alongside "jumbo shrimp" as the funniest food related oxymoron of all time. So when I asked Andrew Milligan, head of strategy at Standard Life Investments, with £157bn in assets for some restaurant suggestions in Edinburgh, the last thing I expected was a list of worthy establishments tumbling from his lips as effortlessly as investment opinions. They came without repetition, hesitation or deviation.
