PROPERTY FOCUS - Indian developers forced to dig deep for funding

With equity markets falling and debt expensive, property firms are scrambling to find funding to meet urban needs. It has created a fertile environment for a previously unthinkable option: private equity. Domestic funds are likely to be the most active, but it would be unwise to see them as saviours of the sector. Ruth David reports.
