Club Gascon: with Jim McCaughan, CEO, Principal Global Investors
As Jim McCaughan and I walked from Gresham Street to Club Gascon the weather was reminiscent of the south of France. It was probably only the hum of London traffic that was drowning out the cicadas. Though we first met before Club Gascon opened 15 years ago, we agreed en route that we had not seen each other in at least that time. That is partly because since leaving UBS in 1998, McCaughan has been based in the US. He has been CEO of Principal for over 11 years.
