Apollo scoops fee pool but misses out on stake as investors rally to Infineon

Backing from Apollo Global Management helped chip maker Infineon to close its Eu725m rights issue this week with strong support from existing investors. It left the private equity firm with a majority of the deal fees — but not the controlling stake in the firm that it could have acquired.
