BEE shareholders offload Mediclinic rights

Shareholders not following their rights in a deal for Mediclinic, the South African private healthcare company, sold the options on Wednesday in an accelerated offering.

The 20.55m rights were placed at R11.50. They enable holders to buy one share at R28.63.

The sale comes after shareholders under the Black Economic Empowerment scheme chose not to follow their rights.
