HSBC names head for illiquid credit syndicate unit

HSBC has appointed Vinay Raj as head of illiquid credit syndicate, a new structure within the firm's global syndicate operations focused on distributing structured finance, infrastructure, real estate and distressed debt.

Raj, according to a memo seen by GlobalCapital, will "oversee the syndication of illiquid credit financings, originated across global banking and commercial banking, to end investors via global markets distribution", and "work closely with the risk transformation and distribution team in global markets".
