Pan-Baltic covered bond law in the works

The finance ministries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are joining forces under the auspices of the European Commission (EC) to develop pan-Baltic covered bond and securitization legal frameworks.

Following a public meeting held last week, the EC’s Structural Reform Support Service (SRSS) is expected to make an announcement in the next two weeks that it has approved funding for the development of pan-Baltic legal frameworks for the covered bond, securitization and derivatives markets, said bankers.
