European CLO BWIC volumes surpass 2019 levels

European CLO secondary trading activity has surpassed 2019’s full-year volumes, following a spurt of CLO tranche trading when spreads widened out in March.

Listings of bids listed in competition (BWICs) seen on the European secondary market by JP Morgan show secondary volumes for 2020 have overtaken 2019’s annual trading total.

As of Monday, Europe’s year-to-date volumes of €8.4bn exceeded full-year BWIC totals for 2019, which were €6bn.
