CommonBond plans to keep issuing, stay prime

Education-focused marketplace lender CommonBond has priced its second student loan securitization of the year, and is looking to the future — and this is not likely to involve reaching down the credit spectrum to attract new borrowers, according to CEO David Klein.

CommonBond issues between two and four ABS deals a year, and Klein declined to state whether this would be the company’s last in 2018. He did, however, note that the New York-based lender intends to keep up that pace.
