Société Générale has set up an integrated debt platform incorporating the loan and bond functions. The U.S. debt capital market group oversees all of the bank's U.S. debt capital market areas including loan and structured debt syndicate, high yield and mezzanine debt, private placements and euro bond origination.
Neil Parekh, global head of high-yield finance, will serve as the head of the new U.S. debt capital markets group, overseeing about 40 professionals. He reports to Paolo Taddonio, head of debt finance in the Americas.
Gail McDermott, David Stern and Julian Carter will continue to serve as head of private placements, head of securitization syndicate and head of origination, respectively. Ted Lunney has been named head of high-yield sales and Terry Sanabria has been named head of loan sales and trading. All will report to Parekh.
Separately, the bank hired Michael Finkelman from BNP Paribas to head its leveraged finance business in the U.S. He reports to Powell Robinson, head of financing for the Americas, and to Rene de Laigue, head of leveraged and acquisition finance (CIN, 4/30).
