The publication took nominations and conducted polling for six weeks beginning in March. The nominations, combined with peer review among industry participants as well as GlobalCapital's own research and reporting were used to assemble the short list for each category. GlobalCapital received over 600 individual votes for the winners in each category, nearly doubling the amount of responses in last year's poll. This year's awards were expanded to include the accounting firm and data provider categories.
The awards honoured the banks, issuers, data providers, law firms and accounting firms that stood out from their peers in 2016, and which most successfully navigated the market in a year of immense change for the securitization industry.
