Wells Fargo files for first post-crisis PL RMBS deal

Wells Fargo filed a 15-G form with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, confirming that the bank is set to launch its first private-label residential mortgage-backed security since the financial crisis.

One of the most prolific private-label residential mortgage backed issuers in the 2000s through shelves including WFALT, WFHET, and WFMBS, Wells Fargo had entirely stepped away from sponsoring MBS deals since its crisis-era underwriting practices landed the bank in hot water with the US Department of Justice.
