Ambac Assurance Corp. has hired Evy Adamidou as first v.p. and senior transactor for collateralized debt obligations and credit derivatives, says Michael Schoezer, managing director and head of structured finance and credit derivatives. She will start Wednesday.
Schoezer says Adamidou will report to Scott Gordon and Sandy Parker, two managing directors who directly report to him. Based in New York, Ambac is a bond insurer that gives triple-A rated guarantees to structured finance products. The position is newly created due to the expansion of wrapped synthetic CDOs, adds Schoezer (BW, 7/15).
Adamidou joins from EFG Eurobank in Athens, Greece, where she was deputy treasurer and head of fixed-income sales. Prior to that, she worked for an overall period of 10 years in New York for two investment banks, first at Lehman Brothers as a CDO trader and structurer, then as a credit derivatives banker at Chase Manhattan Bank, says Schoezer. Adamidou could not be reached for comment.
