Moody's Investors Service has hired Michael Gerdes, an investment manager in the asset-backed securities group at MetLife as a senior commercial mortgage-backed securities analyst in New York, says Tad Philipp, managing director and head of the CMBS group. Gerdes could not be reached for comment.
Gerdes, who is due to start today, will analyze and rate CMBS transactions, reporting directly to Philipp.
Philipp is also looking to fill four other newly created CMBS slots at mid- and junior levels. The firm has recruited Tyler Wiggers, who previously worked in real estate at Bank One, as an analyst, and Deryk Meherik, who has worked as a commercial real estate asset manager for GVA Williams, as an associate analyst. Both will start over the next two weeks.
At MetLife, Gerdes reported to Chuck Scully, head of ABS portfolio management and trading. Scully did not return calls seeking comment.
