* Senior positions for the North American credit markets team at the combined J.P. Morgan Chase and Bank One behemoth have been set. Among the highlights: Margaret Brody and Therese Esperdy will co-head the high-grade origination business. Meanwhile, Scott Davidson and Chris Cole will co-head the asset-backed term and conduit business, including syndicate and trading. Margaret Canella has been tapped as head of North American credit research. Additionally, Jon Gray will run high-grade and high-yield trading, sales and syndication. Chris Linneman will head up high-yield capital markets and will act as co-head of syndicated and leveraged finance. The new roles are effective once the merger is completed, which is expected to be at the end of next quarter.

 

* Thomas Burke has left Lehman Brothers to join the London office of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as a managing director. He will arrange debt financing for principal investments and will report to Atul Bajpai, global head of debt principal finance and securitization.

* Charlotte Seagrave, Nick Gaynor and David Wood have all recently joined Deutsche Bank as managing directors in London and are charged with strengthening the firm's European debt finance presence. Also joining are John Sinik, as a director, and Josefa Linares, as a v.p.

 

* Rick Ritter recently left Nomura Securities International to join AK Capital, a New York mortgage-backed securities boutique, as a managing director. Ritter starts next month and reports to Lori Addison, managing director and head of collateralized mortgage obligations. The hire is part of AK Capital's move to expand into structured finance and CMOs.

 

* Dawn Johnson joins Community Reinvestment Fund, a Minneapolis-based non-profit organization, as an asset manager. In her new role, Johnson will direct CRF's asset management process. She is a 20-year veteran in the financial industry. She was an asset manager of a multi-billion dollar commercial mortgage portfolio at American Express Financial.
