UBS has tapped Jon Bass and Marc Levin, managing directors, as co-heads of fixed-income sales for the Americas. They were each previously head of fixed-income sales for different regions within the U.S., with Levin in charge of Midwest and West Coast accounts and Bass handling the rest of the accounts. They are charged with increasing the distribution of high-grade, emerging market, structured credit and cross-rate sales and report to David Shulman, global head of fixed-income distribution, credit research and strategy. Shulman said the two senior U.S. sales roles were consolidated to bring reporting lines and the sales process in the Americas in line with the way the firm conducts business in Europe and in Asia. For example, the previous hierarchy led to fragmented client-reporting, he said.
