Winston Wohr

* Winston Wohr was named v.p., financial guaranty business development, at PMI Capital. He is charged with leading the exploration and development of opportunities for strategic cooperation between Financial Guaranty Insurance Corp. and PMI's domestic and international mortgage insurance business. * HSBC has launched a capital securities group and announced that it will expand its North American fixed-income platform to include capital securities, incorporating preferred stock. Quentin Murray, senior v.p. for credit sales at Lehman Brothers, and Michael Voelker, managing director and head of preferred trading at Lehman, both join HSBC as managing directors and co-head of capital securities. Murray will also be New York sales manager for credit sales, reporting to Pat McDonald, head of fixed-income sales, North America.

* Michel Iskander, managing director and head of European structuring at Deutsche Bank in London, has joined the distribution team at Barclays Capital in London as managing director and head of structuring. He reports to Guglielmo Sartori di Borgoricco, managing director and head of European distribution.

* Kevin Burke, managing director and head of European private banking coverage at Credit Suisse First Boston in London, has joined the distribution team at Barclays Capital in London as managing director covering European private banks. He reports to Giles Rothwell, managing director and head of investor solution sales.

* HSBC hired six asset-backed securities professionals to expand its term asset-backed team in the Americas. Robert Diorio, Cyrus Moehbbi, Caroline Morrill, Jeffrey Moses and George Smith have all joined HSBC as managing directors and Alice Koo has come on board as senior v.p. They report toMichael Normile, head of term asset-backed securities for the Americas.

* Barclays Capital hired Lynn Gilbert, Christian Janssen and Natalie Howard from Morgan Stanley for its European commercial mortgage-backed securities unit. Gilbert, managing director, will head the European commercial mortgage-backed securities business. Janssen and Howard join as directors and will report to Gilbert who reports to Robert Palache, head of real estate, corporate securitization, and infrastructure finance.
