BTM's Stuart Joins RBS As Americas Loan Head

William Jefferson Stuart, head of structuring and marketing for syndications at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (BTM), has joined The Royal Bank of Scotland as managing director and head of loan markets for the Americas.

William Jefferson Stuart, head of structuring and marketing for syndications at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (BTM), has joined The Royal Bank of Scotland as managing director and head of loan markets for the Americas. Prior to joining BTM last year (LMW, 10/19), Stuart worked at Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas. At BTM he concentrated on structuring investment-grade transactions. An RBS spokesman said Stuart is a direct replacement for Bob Ditton, who has returned home to the United Kingdom after heading the New York loan group. Stuart will be reporting to David Bassett, head of global loan markets. Stuart and Bassett could not be reached by press time.

RBS has built up its loan operations considerably over the past two years. Last fall, the bank brought on board Art de Pena and Robert Gianni, directors and loan salesmen at Credit Suisse First Boston and UBS, respectively, as senior v.p.’s for RBS's leveraged loan sales and trading team. David Petrucco joined in 2002 from UBS to head up the U.S. leveraged loan syndication effort.
