Simon Ballard, managing director and head of credit strategy at Bear Stearns in London, has left and plans to start at BNP Paribas, also in London, next month. Ballard said he will work as one of three senior credit strategist and report to Vivek Tawadey, European head of credit strategy. Ballard starts Nov. 1, in a role that has been vacant for a few months.
Tawadey, in turn, had previously run coverage of the industrial and auto sector and moves up to take a more senior role. He now reports to Rick Deutsch, European head of credit research in London. Deutsch declined comment.
At Bear Stearns, Ballard reported to David Brown, chief European economist. Brown declined comment.
