Two senior fixed-income professionals have left the Clinton Group in New York. They are Robert Smalley, director of credit research, and Robert Wenzel, credit arbitrage portfolio manager.
Smalley referred calls to Neal Brickman, a lawyer who is representing him and Wenzel. Brickman declined to comment on reasons behind their departure except to say the two are in negotiations with several other firms and have not made any decisions. Prior to joining Clinton Group, Smalley headed the fixed-income credit research group at HSBC Securities in New York and Wenzel worked at Sanwa Financial Products.
Ed Rowley, spokesman for Clinton Group, did not return calls by press time.
