KDP Investment Advisors, an independent research outfit, has snapped up Patrick Bonebrake, director in the media and entertainment group at FleetBoston Financial, as assistant v.p. in high-yield. King Penniman, president of KDP in Montpelier, Vt., said Bonebrake replaces Eric Tutterow, group v.p. in high yield. He left to join Fitch Ratings this fall (BW, 11/22).
Bonebrake will cover the telecom sector and may eventually take over media companies, added Penniman. KDP is still looking for a generalist to take over industrials, as well as some other areas. Bonebrake did not return a call by press time.
Looking ahead, Penniman said KDP is working on delivering new research products related to the growing use of credit-default swaps. He expects to make additional hires to increase coverage of the CDS market.
