Sigma Capital Management, a New York subsidiary of hedge fund goliath SAC Capital Advisors, has nabbed two more fixed-income professionals for its growing roster of veteran bond hands. Akiba Cohen, executive director in high-grade research at Morgan Stanley, and Joe Labriola, senior v.p. in sales at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, both joined Sigma last week.
Cohen, an Institutional Investor-ranked industrials analyst, joins Sigma as a director in credit research. He declined comment on the reasons for his departure from Morgan Stanley. Labriola, who joins as a director in credit research, had previously worked in research before working in sales and said he wanted to return to that role on the buy side. Prior to working at KBW, Labriola was head of investment-grade research at BNP Paribas.
Craig Coats, executive v.p. and co-head of fixed income at KBW in New York, said he is looking to hire and Labriola has not yet been replaced.
