HSBC in London has hired Alex Rothlyn, associate director in the residential mortgage-backed securities team at Bear Stearns in London, as an associate director in securitization. He reports to Scott Dickens, head of asset-backed securitization and structured finance.
Dickens said Rothlyn is focusing on Southern European deal execution for financial institutions. The hire is part of the continuing growth of the asset-backed team at HSBC. He also comes on the heels of Chris Rigby, who was hired for FIG securitization (BW, 2/7), and Maurice Dostal, who focuses on the commercial mortgage-backed area (BW, 1/17).
At Bear Stearns, Rothlyn reported to Richard Downer, London-based senior managing director and head of mortgage and consumer assets in Europe. Downer did not return calls.
