Jane Summers, executive v.p. and general counsel of The Loan Syndication and Trading Association, is resigning after more than four years in the role. Alicia Sansone, senior v.p. of communication, marketing and education for the LSTA, said Summers wants to pursue opportunities in the private sector. Summers did not respond to calls. The LSTA is now looking for a replacement general counsel, preferably someone with a loan market background, said Sansone. A departure date has not been set.
While at the LSTA Summers drove important initiatives in market practices and standardization. She joined from Barclays Capital, where she was deputy general counsel. From 1984-95 Summers was a member of the law firm O'Melveny & Myers.
