Phoenix Companies' asset management division has added a generalist portfolio assistant to help out with its $4 billion in fixed income under management. Christine Davis is an internal hire and reports to David Albrycht, portfolio manager.
Albrycht said the hire was spurred by an increased inflow of $700 million to Phoenix's short duration fund over the last 12 months as investors concerned with rising interest rates flocked to the short end of the curve. Davis started at the beginning of the year and assists Albrycht with the technical aspects of portfolio management, including modeling, and will eventually work on asset allocation. Davis previously worked in Phoenix's structured settlements department.
