Elliot Ganz, a v.p. and associate general counsel and director of U.S. banking at CIBC World Markets, has taken the general counsel spot at The Loan Syndications and Trading Association. His responsibilities include managing the LSTA's legal and regulatory affairs, as well as its market practice and standardization initiatives.
The spot opened up after Jane Summers resigned earlier this year (LMW, 2/4). Ganz was the first chairman of the legal committee of the LSTA and has served as a member of its board of directors. He was recently a member of the Steering Committee of the Joint Market Practices Forum on Credit Derivatives.
While at CIBC Ganz was responsible for all aspects of the loan product and supervised credit portfolio management, credit capital markets, loan syndications and trading, credit derivatives and asset-backed securities.
