Blue Mountain Capital Management has hired Areti Loizou, v.p. in credit research at Morgan Stanley, and Jason Carley, head of European high-grade and high-yield corporate credit research at Merrill Lynch, for the buy-side firm's new London office. It opens this week.
Loizou was an Institutional Investor first team-ranked retail and consumer analyst in 2003. Carley managed Merrill's research team and covered the telecom, media, technology and cable sectors. Both will join Blue Mountain later this spring as senior research analysts, according to an official at the firm. Loizou and Carley did not immediately return calls.
Blue Mountain has around $2.7 billion under management and announced earlier this year its London office will be run by Jeremy Barnum, who was previously co-head of North American credit trading at J.P. Morgan.
