The Blackstone Group has brought on board Jeremiah Keefe and Il Lee as principals in the firm's recently formed distressed debt group. Blackstone Distressed Debt Advisors was established at the end of last year and is headed by John Dionne, senior managing director and cio. Keefe was previously the director of European distressed research for Deutsche Bank and helped manage the bank's proprietary positions. He has served on several creditor committees, including MCI and Stelco. Lee was previously a v.p. with hedge fund Harbert Management Corp. A Blackstone spokesman declined further comment.
