Calyon in London has hired Eric Lepage, global head of exotic trading at BNP Paribas in London, as global head of trading and quantitative research within the structured credit team. He started last week and reports to Loïc Fery, global head of structured credit and collateralized debt obligations.
Lepage replaces Roberto Silvotti, Fery's previous co-head of structured credit. Silvotti left the firm last month, according to someone familiar with the situation. Fery confirmed the hire and said a few more are in the pipeline but declined further comment.
At BNP Paribas, Lepage reported to Farid Amellal, global head of credit trading. For the past year, Lepage focused primarily on creating and launching CredIM, a structured credit e-trading platform. Rajesh Amin, European head of exotic credit trading, has been running BNP's exotic trading book on a day-to-day basis during this time. Amellal did not return calls by press time.
